The answer... It depends.
While we absolutely do tinting year-round, some thicker films applied to exterior windows, such as safety and security films, are more temperature-sensitive since they take much longer to dry. Temperatures drop significantly at night, and freezing water from the installation can cause issues. For regular films, the general rule is if the temperature of the interior pane is less than 40 °F, do not install. The interior temperature of a building will usually keep interior glass temperatures above 32 °F. Keep in mind, some commercial spaces or renovations are typically kept at much lower temperatures and may also utilize temperature setbacks at night.
