What is window film?
-Window film is just that, a film that is applied to the window to address every day concerns such as furniture fading, glare on the TV or computer, heat, energy savings, privacy, security, and even enhancing your outside view. Film is able to address multiple concerns, depending the film chosen, better than your standard window treatments such as blinds or shades.
I already have blinds/shades on my windows. Can I still benefit from window film?
-YES! Blinds and shades only do one thing: block your view, which negates the purpose of having a window. Blinds and shades are not able to provide any heat rejection. And although they can provide some fade control and privacy, they cannot do so while still allowing light through and retaining your view to outside world like window film will.
How do I choose a film?
-There are several types of film that address several different concerns. We offer films that solve common issues like furniture fade, heat, glare, privacy, decorative, and security. We can help you find a film that will best address the concerns you are experiencing.
How do I get a quote?
-Feel free to call or email us for a quote. We do free quotes in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
I’m from out of town. Can I still get a quote?
-Absolutely! As with most businesses, we do have travel fees for out of town customers whether it is for a quote or installation. However, if you visit our home page, you will see a link to our measurement guide for measuring your windows. Use this guide, email the measurements to us, and we will gladly build a quote. Be advised, when measurements are provided by the customer, the end price is subject to change if the measurements are inaccurate.
Does the film have any kind of warranty?
-Yes. However, the warranty is dependent on what type of film you choose and whether it is applied in a residential or a commercial setting. Please contact us for more information. Furthermore, we carry a lifetime warranty on our worksmanship.
Does the film go on the inside of the glass?
-Usually. Although exterior films are available for certain applications, we always apply the film to the inside of the glass if possible to ensure a long life for the film.
How soon can I clean my windows?
-We recommend that you do not clean the newly filmed windows for a week to ensure that the film has properly and adequately adhered to the window.
What can I use to clean my windows?
-Do not use a window cleaner that contains ammonia, example: Windex. Simply use a mild soap and water solution with a soft towel.
I see some bubbles in the film after the install. Is this normal?
-Yes. Freshly applied window film may have small bubbles immediately after application. These are remaining water pockets that will typically evaporate with time (usually 2 weeks). If these pockets are still present at 4 weeks, please contact us.
I see some dust in the film after the install. Is this normal?
-Yes. You may notice small specks of particles or possibly a pet hair under the film. Although our preparation and cleaning process is extensive and unparalleled, we cannot 100% guarantee that some will show up. If you find that there is an unsatisfactory concentration of said particles, please contact us and we inspect it to determine if the film should be redone.
The windows seem hazy after the install. Is this normal?
-Yes. During the curing process, you may notice a slight haze to the window clarity. This is completely normal and should resolve itself within the 2-4 week drying process. If this does not clear up in the mentioned time frame, please contact us.
